Background:
 Sunday Olukayode OLADEJO is at the moment an Associate Professor at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria. He holds a Doctorate in Zoology (Ecology and Environmental Biology), a Master of Science degree in Environmental Control and Management, a Bachelor of Science degree (Biology) Dip. Geographic Information System (GIS) In Environmental Remote Sensing and Certificate in Geospatial Database Development & Mgt [Remote Sensing (Erdas)] in Environmental Impact and Disease Risk Reduction, Nairobi- Kenya. A lover of Nature and herbal preventive remedies. . He is a seasoned academic with up to 12 years of experience in the area of applied environmental Remote Sensing and Geospatial methods. He is keen in Environmental Remote Sensing (Precision Agriculture, Geospatial analysis disease and general modelling of the environment. Sunday joined Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria in February 2015 and has since improved his experience in the area of Sustainable Management of Environmental Resources. His wealth of experience stems up to a decade of the combination of teaching, research, and consultancy. He has 21 years of experience in research and teaching, more than 10 years of experience in student project supervision, and scientific grant-winning proposal writing, project implementation, and management. He was part of the proposal writing team for the multi-million dollars World Bank’s Imo State Socio-ecomic and Sustainable Environment Assessment (20 12-2013) As a researcher, Sunday Oladejo has applied his skills in Precision Agriculture, Geospatial analysis, disease reduction, forest and natural resources management, to over 60 different studies. As a consultant and team member on 5 different local and international environmental projects. For over a decades, Dr. Oladejo has also been in collaborative research with seasoned and leading academics across the nation and other parts of the world. An example of such collaborative research is the development of an innovative mobile application for smallholder rice farmers in Nigeria. He has participated as a Remote Sensing and GIS specialist on many highly-rated projects including the development of land use/land cover and base maps for the Assessment poverty alleviation in Imo State, Nigeria, 2013, he participated in the production of maps and spatial analysis assessment of the environmental effects of Dam Construction Orolu Ion, Eko-ende Ore Ilie,Oba-Ile, Oba-Oke and Oshogbo in Southwestern Nigeria by providing maps and compiling information from 2007-2009.Dr Oladejo is a key factor in the Pangolin survey in Ondo State of South-western Nigeria since 2018.. Dr. Oladejo has served and is still serving as a consultant to Mongabay, and others. At the moment he is working on some research projects of interest to Sustainable Agriculture and environmental conservation; these include Site-specific Crop Management and Associated Environmental and Economic Benefits, Disease Risk Reduction Strategies among farmers and School Children. He is recently on project a project on the development of climate –smart rice farming in Osun State. The project established a ground receiving station in collaboration with Meteorology and Climate Science Federal University of Akure, South-Western Nigeria. At the moment Sunday is working with some scientists on some research projects of interest to Sustainable Agriculture and environmental conservation e.g Pangolin Guild of Nigeria. He is currently on a proposal for establishment of an Environmental Remote Sensing Institute.He is currently a member of the Planning and Establishment Committee of the Propossed American University Iwo, South West, Nigeria.
